Entrepreneuritis: def.

As a small business owner I must learn how to do everything myself (spending countless hours learning it sometimes) and must grab on to each new idea that comes my way or through my inbox, learn it and move on to the next thing. As a result most likely have a list of unfinished project on paper, in idea journal or on the computer.

Sound familiar? I call it a wonderful curse. Wonderful because it keeps me curious, motivated to keep learning and is one of the reasons I wanted to be a virtual assistant. The chance to learn new technology, new marketing ideas etc. On the flip side, it is also a curse.  At times it is hard for me to focus, follow through and finish a business development project. With so many half finished projects and ideas it easily leads to a sense of overwhelm, stress and “I’m not sure what the next step should be” syndrome. [Read more...]

Moving past 2008 and moving into 2009

This is probably going to sound like a New Years Resolution post and it certainly could be but it has taken time to get past the busyness of the Holidays and write down thoughts of what happened in 2008 and plan for 2009.

Once I spent time on this idea I kept asking,

“Where did 2008 go?”

2008 is a year that will go down in the history books, here in the the United States we elected our first African American President, the economy plunged and just the everyday tasks were at times overwhelming.  As usual the workaholic in me plowed my way through it all. [Read more...]

Election Day & Entreprenuers

Of course today the topic of conversation and foremost in everyone’s mind is the election. I must admit that I am not sorry to see this day come and go.. and yet at the same time I am.

On the one hand I am relieved that political commercials on the radio, on tv and even on Facebook are soon to be over. On the other hand this is such an important day that it is a good idea to stop and think about the day, what it means and what an incredible privilege it is to cast my vote and be a part of the democratic process.

Today is a day for all of us – Republican – Democrat – Libertarian – Green – it doesn’t matter where you stand on the issues it matters that you participate and become involved in this historic day that comes to us every 4 years.
