What is an entrepreur?
The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines entrepreneur as:
“One who organizes, manages, and assumes the risks of a business or enterprise.”
And Wikipedia defines it as:
An entrepreneur is a person who has possession of an enterprise, or venture, and assumes significant accountability for the inherent risks and the outcome. It is an ambitious leader who combines land, labour, and capital to create and market new goods or services.
When we decide to start a business it is very easy to not to think about the risk and look at the new opportunity through rose colored glasses. To see only the opportunity and the challenge.
You know what I don’t think that is such a bad characteristic for an entrepreneur.
I think that many successful business owners would not be around today if they had stopped at the very beginning and considered the risk.
Does that mean that it is best to jump in both feet first and not think about the risk involved? Absolutely not!
The risk is real but it is not only financial, there is also a risk emotionally and physically. It definitely needs to be taken into consideration, planned for and addressed. There are times however when moving forward in faith and confidence toward your vision is the best key to the success of an entrepreneur who assumes risk and high levels of responsibility.
